In Memory of Ross Heaven, Rest In Peace ~*

I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ross Heaven, father, author, shaman and inspiration to many, including myself. I write this with a heavy heart and with great appreciation for the time he took to share his insights and experience with me over the years. Only two days before his passing he thanked me for the book review that I had written about his fantastic work, San Pedro; The Gateway to Wisdom and the third last post he ever made on facebook was my interview with him for New Dawn Magazine. I will never be able to thank him enough for the difference he and his work has made to my life. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.

He was a true legend in the field of shamanism and spirituality, and will be truly missed. I had been a fan of Ross's work for a long time and greatly appreciated his no nonsense approach and forthrightness. His honesty, humor, compassion and integrity always shone through in everything he wrote. If you're reading this, I ask that you please say a prayer for Ross and his family. He is survived by his children, his friends and in the memories of all those many people that he has helped over his long career on the medicine path. He leaves behind an amazing legacy of over twenty outstanding books that I encourage you all to buy and read, not only will you enjoy them and learn a lot, but you will also help to support those he has left behind.

Cactus Country

Cactus Country is in Strathmerton in northern Victoria, Australia. It is a truly spectacular garden, quite simply an amazing place to visit. The largest cacti collection I've seen for sure, and still growing. The gardens are set out in countries of origin which is great, and there are some beautiful massive old specimens from all over. I was lucky enough to receive some really nice cuttings from a few different plants out there at very reasonable prices and will have to get back out there again soon. Really glad to hear the owners son John who was very nice and helpful, is excited about continuing the garden and expanding it so it will be around for a long time to come and will only get bigger and better.
